Water Quality Testing Program
Through a partnership with EarthEcho International, Greater Toledo Heritage and Horizons has brought hands-on environmental science to local students in Toledo, Washington. This project introduces students to real-world STEM education by monitoring water quality at Wallace Pond and other regional waterways.
Educational Impact
The testing program provides students with first-hand experience in data collection, analysis, and environmental stewardship. Each test contributes to a growing database of local environmental conditions that can help guide community decision-making and conservation efforts.
Partnership and Collaboration
This initiative connects teachers, students, and community mentors. By linking science education with the natural environment, GTHH fosters curiosity and strengthens local pride in our shared resources.
Looking Ahead
Future goals include expanding data reporting, incorporating additional sampling locations, and integrating the program with new STEM initiatives across Lewis County. This effort embodies our mission of combining heritage, education, and sustainability for long-term public benefit.
