These are ideas that may be considered later, after South County Park is secured and repaired. They are shared for transparency and community discussion. They are not active fundraising campaigns.
Vision & Proposal: The ideas below are community-driven concepts intended to guide discussion and planning. They are not active fundraising campaigns unless indicated on their own pages.
Our Nonprofit Role: GTHH is a charitable and educational organization. We focus on community engagement, planning, heritage interpretation, and grant facilitation. We do not develop or operate private commercial businesses. Exception: If GTHH acquires South County Park (Wallace Pond), GTHH may own and operate mission-related park amenities (e.g., kiosk rentals, Steamboat Toledo Theater) with all proceeds used to maintain the park and support charitable programs.
Construction of a fixed-location replica of the historic Steamboat Toledo for use as a stage and heritage venue, with an adjacent paddleboard/bike rental kiosk. If GTHH acquires South County Park, these facilities would be owned and operated by GTHH as mission-related park amenities, with all proceeds supporting park maintenance and charitable programs.

Toledo’s original Logging Museum was tragically lost to fire on Christmas Day, 2010. GTHH is leading a community effort to rebuild the museum as a heritage and educational center honoring the region’s proud forestry history. Exhibits will feature restored equipment, interpretive displays, and forestry education programs highlighting sustainable resource management and the people who helped build the community.

A small operational replica of Toledo’s historic cheese factory will be built as a working educational exhibit. The micro-dairy will demonstrate traditional cheese-making techniques once common in southwest Washington and provide hands-on learning for students through partnerships with FFA, 4-H, and local agricultural programs. Proceeds from educational product sales and community events will support cheese heritage celebrations and future GTHH educational initiatives and operations.

Community vision for the long-term revitalization of Toledo’s Old Town core with historically themed architecture, public squares, and repurposed buildings. GTHH’s role is educational and planning-focused (heritage interpretation, public engagement, and grant facilitation). Any private businesses involved would be independently owned and operated.

Community concept for a rural gateway visitor hub with plaza, tourism kiosk, and local vendor pavilion near the I-5 interchange. GTHH supports planning, cultural and heritage interpretation, and visitor engagement. If established, GTHH may own and operate the Visitor Center, including a small cultural and heritage-themed gift shop offering books, educational materials, and local artisan items that reflect the region’s culture and history. All revenue from these mission-related sales would be used to support Visitor Center operations and GTHH’s educational programs.

Community concept for light industrial uses that support rural entrepreneurship (e.g., electronics assembly, drone manufacturing, and modern agricultural services). GTHH’s nonprofit role focuses on workforce development, vocational training, and small business education for local students and residents in partnership with schools and regional training programs. These educational initiatives would help prepare young people for skilled trades and emerging industries while strengthening the local economy. Any private facilities developed in this area would be independently owned and operated, with GTHH’s participation limited to training and community planning support.
